Feliz Natal!

Me & my ideal Christmas gift...

Still enjoying a vida! My travel plans have changed and so I spent Christmas at a family party in Salvador instead of floating along the Amazon. This city is really amazing, so much art, music, dance, rythm, party going on. I definitely wanna come back for Carneval! Right now I am thinking about where to go. The only things I know is that I will be in Belo Horizonte in January and intend to volunteer in a Rainforrest Research Center in Rosário da Limeira in March and April. This schedule allows me to spend almoast another month to travel back to Recife and then home.

Tudo bem na Brasil!

Here are the first travel pictures!

During the long flight to Recife I already met some nice Brazilian people. Then, arriving at the airport trying to get organized, I ran into Timur from Germany because we both wanted to stay at a hostel. What can I say that other than that from that moment on, everything went on pretty well! We stayed for two nights in a really sweet hostel with lovely people, checked out the beach, city and food and I thought that I was really lucky to be on this warm, colorful, friendly, corner of the earth full of music, sun, joy and cachaca :) These days where followed by trips to other cities along the coast full of activities like swimming, learning to surf and capoeira, dancing (forro, a local dance), making new friends, small and bigger live concerts, hanging out at the beach day and night, eating very well (fresh fruits and black beans are my favourite), riding a motorbike in the back and doing nothing but relax. A couple of days before I went with some Brazilians to Joao Pessoa to visit a friend"s home. Since then, I haven"t been able to speak anything other than Portugnol, a soft version of Spanish. The idea is to modify my Spanish more and more so that in the end I speak perfect Portuguese. Well, facing reality, I must admit that it only works sometimes. This is really strange: Sometimes I can have a really long conversation and other times I don"t understand a bit. Nice challenge!
What I really like besides all the obvious things is that here life is time and weightless. Wearing only a bit more than a bikini, without cell phone, iPod, watch, schedule and just a backpack it is pretty easy to feel free and explore. And Christmas! Well, here are obvious signs that this "event" is gonna happen soon but I don"t feel it! How can you feel like Christmas when you have your real serious sunburn? I still don"t have any precise plans about the next months other than that I want to work on an organic farm and do some volunteer work. Vamos ver :)
PS: There are so many more pictures I wann take but my camera became really bitchy and recently fell into a deep coma...
